Jump Back Ball 2018
One of Cleveland’s hottest events of the year is the Jump Back Ball. We’ve been DYING to go to this event for years but for one reason or another we’ve been unable to attend. So when Playhouse Square contacted us to see if we’d like to attend, we immediately checked our calendars (and planned to cancel any plans we already had) and said yes please!
The Jump Back Ball is hosted by Playhouse Square’s official young professionals group, Partners. The event raises funds to support Playhouse’s not-for-profit mission, while instilling leadership skills in Cleveland young professionals. Guests get to enjoy endless cocktails, food, live music, dancing, a raffle and silent auction. There are two ticket options: regular admission and VIP. For the VIP tickets, the event starts at 6:00 pm with cocktails and hors d’oeuvre then 7:00 p.m. starts the seated dinner.
This is the 27th year they’ve been doing this! This year’s theme is 2018: A Space Odyssey. Some of the themes from previous years were Under the Big Top: The Greatest Party on Earth, Back to the Roaring Twenties 0023: Shaken Not Stirred and Back to the Future. For this year’s theme, they encouraged people to come as your favorite sci-fi characters and get creative with a fun outer space look. We chose to go the black tie route since we were coming from a wedding beforehand. We saw some pretty amazing costumes such as Coneheads, Chewbacca, Trekkies, etc.
The live music was incredible. Faction played on the main stage in the theater from 9:00-11:00 and Billy Likes Soda played in the lobby from 11:00-12:30. They both really kept the crowd into it with an eclectic variety of covers. In additon to live music, they more activities planned such as a scavenger hunt and casino games. They even provided a late night buffet which is always key in situations where you’re partying all night.
We had such a great time at this event! We ended up meeting our across the street neighbors, Mady and Chris, and they showed us the ropes as they’ve been to a few of these. It was so fun to dress up and hang out in the State Theater and see it transform into this massive party. If you’re thinking about going to next year’s Jump Back Ball, don’t hesitate and buy your tickets as soon as they go on sale. This is truly the event of the year!
