Day 13 of the Advent-ure Calendar
Day 13: De Brabandere Wittekerke Winter White Ale
We are big fans of the Wittekerke Wit Ale so when we saw the Winter White Ale we had to snag it. Beer Menu’s describes this beer as “quite musky and a huge presence of cinnamon and notes of orange peel and coriander.”
REFLECTIONS
Beard & Broad
Beard: Aroma is of fresh oranges…but that’s basically where the high points stop with this. Definitely tastes a bit old, but the date on the bottle is 11.07.15. Body is pretty thin, low carbonation, and finishes super dry. That’s where I get a bit of the spice, but it’s not pleasant. Unfortunately this one was kind of a let down.

Broad: This beer was very diappointing. It tasted old, but it’s not. It’s nor flavorful with spices or oranges. I would not classify this as a holiday ale. The only thing I did like about this was the smell because it smelled like a delicious wit beer. I expected more from this her. I thought it was going to taste like the wit bier with some added spices

Adam & Alex
Adam: This beer is a bummer, man. It tastes like it’s flat and old despite it being confirmed that it’s new. It smells like a wit but tastes like a disappointment

Alex: yuck…followed by emojis.

Mez & Sam
Mez: Are you sure that’s not a sour? (said repeatedly while trying to finish it)

Sam: (did not get to try this one)
