One of the biggest beer events in Cleveland is the Cleveland Winter Beerfest. Located at the Huntington Convention Center downtown, the event has over 300 different beers from over 120 breweries. The event raises funds to benefit the Music Education Society and their mission to support music programs in underfunded schools. There are breweries from all over the place at this event, not just from Ohio. The convention center is the perfect location for such a big event, as it never feels super crowded because everything is so spread out.
If we could eat fancy meats and cheeses every day, forever, we would. Add some olives, fancy jams and crostini and you basically have all the major food groups covered, right? With this post, we’d like to share our are tips and secrets for constructing the best charcuterie board.
It’s Sunday. You’re hungover (or just lazy). You just cleaned the kitchen (or it’s super dirty), and you just can’t bring yourself to make another meal this week. So, delivery it is! The surcharge is crazy because more than just you had this idea tonight, but you press on. You place your order and sit back and wait. And wait. And wait. And wait longer. Finally, your sustenance hath arrived! Cold! DAMMIT! The whole night is ruined and everything is terrible. Trust us, we’ve been there. Luckily there is now an establishment that is working to change the food delivery game and it’s called ClusterTruck. When they reached out to us with an offer to tour the kitchen and try the food we immediately said yes, because one thing we’re obsessed with is (good) delivery food.
By now, you know that we really love beer. But we also love gin, like really love gin. It wasn’t love at first taste though. Beard first started drinking gin shortly after college. He and his friends went through a Tom Collins stage. Then Broad got into it a little later when Beard started making some delicious gin cocktails. But, we were picky about what gin we drank. Anything that was super junipery or strong was out. Then we came across Watershed Distillery’s Four Peel Gin. We bought it because it sounded delicious and we wanted to support an Ohio business. Now this was love at first sip. We became slightly obsessed. We made tasty cocktails with it and gave it to all our non-gin drinking friends, convinced we could get them to start liking gin. When Watershed Distillery invited us and other CLE bloggers to come down and tour their facility and taste their menu, there was no way we would miss this opportunity! Read more
Over the past year we’ve met a bunch of super awesome Cleveland bloggers, social media influencers, and movers and shakers making things happen in Cleveland. They’ve really helped us get even more excited about blogging and what we love about Cleveland, and we felt that our readers should get to know these amazing people too. So, we’re introducing the Beard/Broad spotlight where we interview a new friend of ours about their favorite foods, drinks and CLE activities. We hope you enjoy getting to know our new friends, and maybe you’ll find a new favorite Cleveland eating or drinking spot too!
